He stood waiting for the longest time at the gate leading to the dog park, but she never arrived. As the minutes ticked on, his tail lowered until what once looked like a plume raised into the air eventually deflated and fell against his backside.
Beanie visited the dog park yesterday but was utterly disinterested in him. Paddy didn’t care and kept zooming around her, hoping against hope that she would pay attention to him and maybe play with him for a while. Beanie never looked at or even sniffed Paddy. Perhaps she had enough of dogs, as she was used as a breeder several times a few years ago. Or, maybe she’s stuck up and considers Paddy beneath her.
Paddy and Beanie are both mini doodles. Paddy is a Goldendoodle, and Beanie is a Labradoodle. They are beautiful, sweet dogs.
Beanie and her human dad pass by the patio several times a day. Paddy watches Beanie as she goes by, longs for her, and sometimes runs to the fence to greet her, but Beanie ignores him.
I’m left with a heartbroken dog who only wants to spend time with Beanie. Beanie’s not having it, though. At least Paddy has his human mom, and she has him.
“How can you stop the sun from shining?
What makes the world go round?
How can you mend this broken [dog]?
How can a loser ever win?
Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again” (The Bee Gees, 1971)
Paddy waits for Beanie.
Sad story but great song
